6 to-dosFrequently asked questions
How many nappies should I pack for a trip?
Plan for one nappy per two hours of travel on the journey itself, plus a day's supply for arrival. For the rest of the stay, buy locally if you can; nappies take a lot of suitcase space and are sold almost everywhere.
Does a baby need a passport to fly?
For international flights, yes: every passenger needs their own passport, including newborns. Some countries also ask for a birth certificate or a consent letter when one parent travels alone. Domestic flights usually accept a birth certificate or no document at all.
What should I pack in the diaper bag for the plane?
Nappies, wipes and nappy cream, a changing mat, two spare outfits (and one for you), bottles or snacks, a pacifier or something to suck during take-off and landing, a small toy, a blanket and a plastic bag for anything soiled.
Can I share this list with my partner?
Yes. Open the list in The Packing List app and share it with a link. You can both tick things off from your own phones and see the other person's changes in real time.
Every item on this page is one of the built-in suggestions in The Packing List app.
