What camera gear should I bring on a trip?
One or two bodies, the two or three lenses you actually use, at least three batteries and a charger, more memory cards than you think, a lens cloth, filters if you use them, a travel tripod, and a way to back up every evening such as a laptop or portable SSD.
Can I take camera batteries on a plane?
Yes, but lithium batteries must go in your carry-on, not checked luggage. Spare batteries should have their terminals covered or sit in a case. Most airlines allow batteries up to 100 Wh without approval, which covers all camera batteries.
How do I back up photos while travelling?
Copy cards to a laptop or portable SSD every evening and keep the cards until you are home, so every photo exists in two places. Cloud backup works where the connection is fast enough.
Can I use this list in the app?
Yes. Tap Open this list in the app to create it in The Packing List, then add quantities for batteries and cards and tick everything off before you leave.
