6 to-dosFrequently asked questions
Which kite sizes should I bring on a trip?
Check the average wind for the spot and season and bring a kite for the low end, one for the average and one for the strong days, typically three sizes two to three metres apart. Two bars cover every kite and give you a spare.
How do I fly with kitesurfing gear?
Use a wheeled board bag and pack kites, bars and harness around the board for padding. Most airlines charge a sports-equipment fee or count it as an extra bag, so book it in advance. Keep the pump and repair kit in the bag, not the cabin.
What do kiters forget to pack?
The pump hose adapter, zip ties and a screwdriver for fin bolts, lip sunscreen, a spare line set, and the wind meter. All are on the list above.
