What should I pack for a marathon weekend?
Your tested race kit (shoes, socks, shorts, top, sports bra), a throwaway layer for the start line, safety pins, your race confirmation and ID for bib pick-up, the nutrition you trained with, anti-chafe balm, sunscreen, a watch and charger, recovery clothes and sandals, and warm layers for after the finish.
What should I do the day before a race?
Pick up your bib, lay out your kit, pin the bib on, eat a familiar carbohydrate-rich dinner, hydrate, check the start time and transport, and set two alarms. Walk a little, but stay off your feet as much as you can.
Should I wear new shoes for a race?
No. Race in shoes that have at least 50 to 80 km on them so you know they don't cause blisters. The same applies to socks and anything else that touches your skin for hours.
Can I use this checklist in the app?
Yes. Tap Open this list in the app to create it in The Packing List, then set a reminder for race-morning items like your bib and watch.
Every item on this page is one of the built-in suggestions in The Packing List app.
